During the first quarter of 2024, the top navigation and maps applications on the iOS platform in Portugal displayed diverse performance trends. Below is an overview of the weekly downloads and active user metrics for the leading five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting strong with approximately 9.4K downloads in the first week of January, peaking at about 9.9K in the second week, and gradually declining to around 7.1K by the end of March. Active users for Google Maps remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from about 1.27M in early January to approximately 1.32M by the end of the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a consistent pattern in its weekly downloads, beginning with around 7K in the first week of January and dipping to nearly 4.5K in late February. However, a rebound was noted in March, reaching about 6.5K downloads in the final week. Active users for Waze showcased a steady rise from approximately 356K to around 380K throughout the quarter.

Via Verde maintained a steady download rate, starting with roughly 2.5K downloads in the first week of January, and ending March with similar figures. Active users remained fairly consistent, hovering between 5.4K and 5.6K over the quarter.

Google Earth reported modest download numbers, beginning with about 1.2K in early January and incrementally increasing to approximately 1.5K by the end of March. The number of active users showed a slight upward trend from around 10K to nearly 10.8K over the quarter.

Finally, Carris displayed significant variability in weekly downloads. Starting the quarter with around 900 downloads, the app saw a sharp increase to nearly 4K in late February, followed by a reduction to about 900 downloads by the end of March.
